1st Band is a strategic card game where players compete to assemble the perfect musical lineup. Each round, players play cards representing different roles—Vocal, Guitar, Bass, Drums, or Keyboard. However, competition is fierce: if two players play the same role, only the musician with the higher value stays on stage, while the weaker performer is eliminated.
The game shifts into the Recruiting Phase once a full band (Vocal, Guitar, Bass, Drums + optional (Keyboard)) is formed. In a clever twist, the player who played the lowest-value card gets to pick first, choosing any musician from the stage to add to their personal collection. This creates a tense balance between playing high numbers to stay on the board and playing low numbers to secure the first pick of the best talent.
The game concludes when all cards have been played. Your final score is the total value of all musicians you’ve recruited, plus significant Set Bonuses: an extra 10 points for a standard 4-piece band or 20 points for a full 5-piece ensemble. Strategy lies in knowing when to fight for a spot and when to aim for the perfect set.
