Terra Incognita is a family-friendly pirate adventure and strategy game in which players explore a mysterious modular island, flip tiles to reveal surprises, collect treasure, and race their loot back to their ship while competing against rival crews. Each game creates a new island layout, offering strong replayability through varied tile arrangements.

On a player’s turn, they activate one or more of their pirates and spend movement to travel across connected tiles. Moving onto an unexplored tile flips it, revealing either treasure, hazards, or special locations with unique effects. Pirates can pick up treasure as they move, attack opponents on adjacent tiles, or interact with special tile abilities. In advanced modes, players may also use unique pirate abilities.

Players continue exploring, gathering treasure, and interfering with rival crews as the island is gradually revealed.

The game ends when all treasure on the island has been discovered and delivered to the ships. The winner is the player or team with the highest total value of treasure. Coins, treasure chests, and treasure sacks contribute to the final score, rewarding both efficient exploration and smart tactical play.
