The Movie Set is a strategy card game about collecting and combining movie elements to create valid films. Players take on the role of producers assembling movies using Celebrity, Plot, and Location cards, aiming to score the most stars by building convincing and coherent movie sets.
On a turn, players draw cards from a shared display or the deck to build their hand, managing hand limits and competing for valuable combinations. To score, a player reveals one Celebrity, one Plot, and one Location card and explains how they come together as a movie. Other players may challenge the logic of the set, and validity is determined by group consensus or majority vote.
Wild cards can substitute for any card type but do not score points, adding flexibility at the cost of efficiency. Special cards allow players to refresh the shared display, creating moments of tactical disruption and opportunity.
The game ends after a set number of movie sets have been completed, and the player with the highest total star value wins. The Movie Set blends set collection, shared drafting, and social validation, encouraging both strategic play and discussion around film logic and creativity.
