Flockton of Flamingos is a lighthearted, fast-paced card game for 2 to 6 players set in a vibrant, retro world focused on making feathered friends and building the most fabulous flock. Inspired by the charming, kitschy aesthetic of mid-century atomic design, the game features eye-catching pinks and teals alongside whimsical illustrations of flamingos sporting distinct, fashionable outfits that double as the game's card suits. Players compete to attract these uniquely styled birds away from a central lagoon and into their own personal roost.
The game’s design is directly inspired by real-world flamingo behavior, highlighting the fact that these social birds inherently organize themselves into tightly knit mated pairs, close circles of friends, and broader community groups. On a turn, players choose one of three straightforward actions: attract flamingos by playing a card from their hand and collecting matching numbers and outfits from the shared lagoon, draw two cards, or play three cards directly into their Roost. If a player pulls off a massive play by attracting three or more flamingos from the lagoon at once, it triggers a "Flamboyance!"— all other players shout "Flamboyance!" out loud as they each draw a flamingo card into their own hand.
Winning the game requires strategic hand management to replicate natural flamingo bonds inside your Roost. Players score points by assembling specific combinations within their roost: forming "mated pairs" of identical numbers, "close friend groups" of sequential runs, and large "community groups" sharing the same suit. The player who creates the highest-scoring, most socially harmonious flock wins!
