High in the hills, behind the ancient stone walls of a secluded monastery, an unusual order of tiny chipmunk monks has devoted itself to the noble art of brewing. They are the ChipMonks, industrious little brothers whose talent for stuffing their cheeks makes them particularly gifted at gathering ingredients. Each player leads a ChipMonk brewmeister determined to fill their recipe book with the monastery’s finest ales. With cheeks packed full of hops, grains, fruits, spices, and other precious ingredients, the ChipMonks scurry through the monastery, secretly stashing their bounty in the library, kitchen, chapel, cellar, garden, and other unlikely hiding places.
Each round, you’ll sneak ingredients from your cheeks into caches throughout the monastery, trying to assemble just the right combination for your recipes. Eventually, you must choose a location to claim, collecting everything the ChipMonks have hidden there and putting those ingredients to work in your brewery. Claim a location too soon and you may leave with little; wait too long and a rival ChipMonk may scurry off with the perfect stash. And secrecy only lasts so long—once each round, a ChipMonk can openly reveal an ingredient, compelling the entire order to do the same and offering a tantalizing glimpse at what everyone has been hoarding.
Across six rounds and the changing seasons, you’ll brew new beers, discover new recipes, and build your recipe book into a 3×3 collection worthy of the monastery archives. Seasonal events will disrupt even the best-laid brewing plans, while forgotten ingredients tucked away throughout the monastery may become valuable treasures in the rounds ahead. Completed brews earn points, but true masters of the order are also rewarded for impressive rows and columns of finished recipes and for earning a reputation as either a Specialist or Dabbler. So fill your cheeks, guard your recipes, choose your hiding places wisely, and brew your way to becoming the greatest ChipMonk Brewmeister!
