Verona is a highly interactive strategy board game set in the city of Verona between the 14th and 16th centuries. Players develop their own districts by constructing buildings, managing workers, and competing fiercely for limited action spaces.
Each player controls workers with values from 1 to 5, which are placed on action spaces through a bidding-like system. Higher-value workers can displace others, creating constant tension and confrontation. The game features four main action spaces: a rondel for acquiring buildings at varying costs, a space for gaining money, one for recruiting assistants, and another for constructing powerful monuments.
Buildings are placed into a personal 5×5 grid, where players aim to create diverse and efficient districts. Citizens can also be settled into districts, providing ongoing benefits and strategic advantages. Victory comes from clever planning, tactical placement, and mastering direct competition on the action spaces.
